clever or tasteless?
I just had a 2+2 moment.
Yesterday I passed a children's bicycle by liverpool street station. It was painted white and had a sign that said Dead Kids.
I assumed it was a shock-tactic promotion for a Drive Safely initiative.
Then this morning on the way to work I saw a poster for a new band, Dead Kids.
Impactful promotion? Yes. Tasteful? ummm...

Sounds like they're ripping off the Ghost Bikes project.

they're most definitely referencing it yes. ghost bikes had more honourable intentions methinks!
I saw one by Old St roundabout - took some shots, just as a cyclist turned up to spray it black so people wouldn't notice it anymore.
Reckon it's a complete fail of an idea - hijacking a rather beautiful form of memorial and using it for marketing.
Grim and misjudged, aiming for shock value. Some things you just don't fuck with.
I'm with you Alistair
